The country music couple sang a medley of some of the genre's greatest duets including Johnny Cash and June Carter's "Jackson," Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn's hit "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man," and "Golden Ring", made famous by Tammy Wynette and George Jones. But, it was what happened after their performance that had everyone talking.
After the music stopped, Brooks grabbed his wife of almost 11-years and gave her a passionate kiss. According to Garth, the camera's weren't supposed to catch the kiss.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Brooks said, “I’ve wanted to do that for a hundred years. Usually when we sing together, we stand back and bow but I just want to eat her alive! I thought she did so well and she was so gorgeous and I actually thought the cameras were off us — that’s why I did it. And that was probably one of the best kisses I ever got from her!”
In addition to getting the best kiss of the night, Brooks took home the coveted CMA Entertainer of the Year trophy, breaking the record for the most EOTY wins that he previously held with Kenny Chesney.Watch the Garth and Trisha's full CMA Awards performance and the adorable kiss that followed in the video below.
