Almost more exciting than the presentation of the CMA Awards trophies is the much-anticipated live performances. In the past, the awards show has brought us some of the most popular collaborations in country music history, including last years' performance from Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake.
This year the CMA Awards are celebrating their 50th year and have already whet our appetite with the epic release of 'Forever Country' in which 30 past award winners came together to perform three of country music's greatest hits.
The 2016 CMA Awards take place November 2nd and, so far, only six of the night's performers have been announced. Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Maren Morris, Eric Church, Keith Urban, and Brad Paisley will be taking a turn on the stage. But, one more country act let it slip during a press conference that he will also be performing.
Garth Brooks was in Dallas promoting his new single, "Baby, Let's Lay Down and Dance," and upcoming album when he spilled the beans that he and wife, Trisha Yearwood, will be paying tribute to some of country music's greatest duets during the Nashville show. Garth is also up for the coveted Entertainer of the Year award.
Brooks and Yearwood are also gearing up to release their first ever duet album. Christmas Together will be released November 11.
Listen to Garth Brooks' new single "Baby, Let's Lay Down and Dance" below and let us know what songs you think Garth and Trisha will perform at the CMAs!
