One of the most romantic songs to ever hit the airwaves was born with the release of the 1992 musical western, Pure Country. With the help of George Strait, “I Cross My Heart” stormed the radio waves as well as the hearts of the nation.

Strait took on the role of Wyatt “Dusty” Chandler, one of the biggest names in country who goes into hiding after becoming disillusioned with what the world of country music had transformed into. Upon returning to his hometown undercover, Dusty falls madly in love with a young woman by the name of Harley.

Inevitably, Dusty makes his return to the stage with one thing on his mind. The southern charmer buys front row tickets for Harley and her family for his first major concert back. The singer performs a brand new song, “I Cross My Heart,” written specially for his sweetheart, ultimately winning her heart.

The music video for “I Cross My Heart” is a video montage of scenes from Pure Country, highlighting their romance and how they fell madly in love. The romantic love ballad went on the become a wedding staple for newlyweds to dance to in celebration of their eternal love.
