"The King" of country music's still got it!
After George Strait announced that his 2013 Cowboy Rides Away Tour would be his last, fans wondered if they'd ever get the chance to see him perform on stage again. Although Strait has firmly stuck to his "no more touring" rule, he has made a series of scattered performances over the years. Still, the performances don't ever seem to occur often enough to satisfy his many fans.
Finally, after much anticipation, Strait returned to the stage at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena to perform a weekend of shows. It was his first weekend of shows since April, so you can bet that excitement was at an all-time high.
Strait made sure to deliver with his performances, proving exactly why he's earned the title as "The King" of country music. He sang all of the fans' favorite songs, and just kept soaring through hit after hit.
But Strait also had a few tricks up his sleeve that really had the crowd going wild. He invited some special guest to join him up on stage, including his opening act and fellow Texan, Kacey Musgraves. The two of them sang "Drive," along with "I Just Wanna Dance With You," which one fan captured a portion of in a video.
Strait also invited songwriter Dean Dillon on stage with him. Dean has served as the co-writer on some of Strait's biggest hits such as "Ocean Front Property" and "The Chair." You can watch Strait perform "The Chair" in this fan-captured video.
George may have only played for a weekend in Vegas, but it isn't his last time performing there. He's set to return for more shows in December, and we're sure those shows will be just as great!
