The Grand Ole Opry is packing its bags and heading to "the big apple"! Well, sort of. New information has been released that a massive, four-level entertainment complex complete with shops, bars, and restaurants is set to be crafted in Times Square by April of 2017!
Called "Opry City Stage", the new location "will share the best of Nashville food and music, including live entertainment, simulcast performances from the Grand Ole Opry House and more in a two-floor bar and restaurant space. A world-class listening room and private event space will occupy the fourth floor, and the ground level will hold the complex’s retail area featuring many of Nashville’s signature brands," according to a press release.
Those involved in the project are hopeful that the first "home away from home" will allow visitors the opportunity of an incredible country experience, ultimately increasing traffic to the original Nashville staple for the in-depth encounter!
"Opry City Stage is all about taking the diverse sounds that originate in Nashville to other markets so that fans have another way to discover new artists and connect with the music they love. We believe that once our Opry City Stage guests get a taste for all the Grand Ole Opry and Nashville have to offer, they are going to want to visit Music City and experience it for themselves," explained Colin Reed, chairman and CEO of Ryman Hospitality Properties.
To sweeten the deal, the newest location will even harbor Nashville’s famous Bluebird Cafe for all you city folks who have yet to bask in its southern goodness!
