It was Season 20 of Dancing With The Stars that gave the consistently anticipated ABC show a new meaning, along with a new appreciation for the brave men and women who fight so vigorously for our freedom.
Noah Galloway, former United States Army soldier, was severely injured when he came in contact with an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) ultimately costing him the majority of his left arm and a large portion of his left leg.
Upon his drastic injuries and departure from the Army, Galloway went on to pursue a career as a fitness trainer, defying any limitations that posed as an eminent obstacle in both his professional aspirations and personal goals. His career led him to various modeling appearances, as well features on multiple television broadcastings, including The Ellen Degeneres Show.
It was in 2015 that Galloway was chosen to compete on the beloved series Dancing With The Stars, being paired with incredibly talented and graceful Sharna Burgess. Together, this captivating duo went on to place third in the Season 20 competition, despite the psychical obstacles that some viewers believed would keep Galloway from persevering.
While the duo's dances continued to inspires viewers week after week, it was a contemporary number set to Toby Keith's "American Soldier" that ultimately brought light to Galloway's remarkable journey and heroic past.
Galloway, with Burgess at his side, showcased his undying will to succeed through his incredible emotional strength and stamina, regardless of the doubts that had initially been cast his way!
Upon the final salute closing the emotional performance, Galloway and Burgess are overwhelmed with an emotional and overly stimulated audience. Calling the performance "profound", the awestruck judges press on to praise Galloway for his ability to say so much while attempting so little, in addition to his soaring spirit that remains unbroken.
Galloway reminds us that obstacles are intended to be overcome and that we determine our own barriers and limitations.
