Julianne Hough first found her claim to fame as a professional ballroom dancer on the hit competition show Dancing with the Stars. After five seasons and two championship finishes, Hough left the show in order to pursue other aspects of her career. During that time, she starred in hit movies such as the remake of Footloose and the Nicholas Sparks film, Safe Haven.
Hough also pursued a career in country music, which was a major success. Her debut album hit number one on the country charts and she was named the ACM's Top New Female Vocalist and Top New Artist in 2009.
Even though Hough never returned to Dancing as a pro dancer, she kept coming back to the show where she got her start. She often appeared as a guest dancer and even filled in as a guest judge. Then for Season 19, Hough signed on to participate as a full-time judge for the show that had given her so much.
Hough remained as a judge for three seasons before she shocked fans in February with the announcement that she would not be returning for Season 22. Once again, Hough wanted to pursue other aspects of her career, and was taking the time off of Dancing in order to do so.
Now that Season 22 of Dancing is over, fans are curious if Hough has plans to return in any capacity for Season 23. As Hough shared with ET, she said the show has already approached her to ask if she'll return as a judge for next season. Although Hough hasn't said yes to the offer yet, she isn't ruling out the possibility of a return:
"They are always going to be in my family...It's where I came from. If they want me to be a part of it in some aspect, of course. Absolutely. They've asked me to come back to judge but we'll see what happens. Like I said, I’m still focused on my personal journey and my personal career. We'll see."
No matter what Hough decides to do concerning Dancing, we're looking forward to continuing with her on her journey. Who knows, maybe that journey includes another country album?
