Back in 2008, professional ballroom dancer Julianne Hough shimmied her way into the country music scene with her debut, self-titled album. She danced her way into the hearts of country fans around the world, and her album topped the charts as a result.
Julianne went on to win the Top New Female Vocalist Award and the Top New Artist Award at ACMs in 2009. It wasn't a surprise, considering the success of her singles such as "That Song in My Head," and the popularity of her duet "Dreaming Under the Same Moon," which she sang with her brother, Derek.
But Julianne has been absent from the country music world ever since. However, she has said before that she one day hopes to return to the musical aspect of her career.
Now, there may be a chance that day has finally come.
On Thursday (October 20), Julianne posted a black and white photo of herself on Instagram on what appears to be a set of some sort. In the caption, Julianne wrote that she had just been filming "a secret little shoot" with some of her favorite people.
After a little digging, we found out that one of the people at the shoot that day was Derek. This was confirmed in an Instagram post from BigMan Productions, who posted a photo saying they had an "epic shoot" with the two Hough siblings.
We have our fingers crossed that this "secret project" is a music video for a new country duet between Julianne and Derek, but knowing them, the possibilities are endless. Since both are professional ballroom dancers, it's also likely the shoot could have been related to dance instead.
It turns out that Derek has worked with BigMan Productions for dance shoots before. So if the project he's working on with Julianne is a filmed dance, then we know it will turn out beautifully.
Still, we're going to keep hoping that it's a country music video! They never filmed one for "Dreaming Under the Same Moon," but they did perform it together in a special session, which you can watch below.
What do you think? Do you have any ideas what the Hough siblings' secret project could be?
