Kenny Chesney's voice has been gracing country music radio for more than 20 years. The east Tennessee native has accomplished more in those two decades than many artists accomplish in a lifetime. With more than 20 albums, 40 Top 10 hits, and 4 CMA Entertainer of the Year trophies under his belt, Chesney shows no signs of slowing down.
The 48-year old recently did an interview with CMT prior to his Dallas Spread the Love tour stop where he shared his thoughts on retirement. When asked if he wants to go out on top or if he plans to just let his career taper off, Chesney made it clear that he doesn't plan to go anywhere anytime soon.
"I think the business will dictate that. I don't see me not wanting to feel this anytime soon. I still feel very creative. I feel very excited to be out here. I don't think about [retirement] that much," Chesney admitted. "I don't think that I need to make that decision this second. But, I don't know...I'm smart enough to know this wonderful ride we're on will probably change at some point. But, I can tell you that it feels awfully good to be up here right now."
Kenny Chesney is currently in the middle of his Spread the Love tour along with Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt, and Old Dominion. The singer announced last week that his new album, Cosmic Hallelujah, will be released in October 2016.
