In the early 90s, Gaither Vocal Band members Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene wrote a song together title “Mary Did You Know.” The song was first recorded by Christian singer Michael English, and later by the Gaither Vocal Band in 1998 for their Christmas album Still the Greatest Story Ever Told.
Some of those artists include Glen Campbell, Scotty McCreery, Reba McEntire, Kathy Mattea, and a cappella group Pentatonix.
Other songs on The Gift were “A Soldier’s King,” “Pretty Little Baby Child,” “What a Wonderful Beginning,” “It’s the Messiah,” “I Trust You,” and a medley of “The Chosen One Montage,” “The Chosen One,” “Away in a Manger,” “O Holy Night,” “Silent Night,” “The First Noel,” “We Three Kings,” and “Joy to the World.”
Their version did well on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart and has become a staple for Wynonna. She will even be singing it at the first-ever Christmas at the Opry TV special, which airs on December 7th.
