Duck Dynasty fans are still reeling from the announcement that the current 11th season will be the last. The Robertson family came together after the season premiere to make the announcement.

"We decided as a family, that this will be the final chapter of the Duck Dynasty series," Jase said, speaking on behalf of the large Robertson clan.

Some of the family members, including Willie, Jase, Sadie and Korie took to social media to say thank you to their fans for giving them this opportunity to share their lives with them.

"This will be the final season of Duck Dynasty after 5 years. It's been an amazing ride. Thank y'all for the incredible journey," Sadie wrote, while Jase confirmed the end of the series, saying, "Yes, this is the last season of Duck Dynasty. But, it is a REALLY long season, and we may do an occasional special in the future. Love y'all."

Korie recently stopped by the PEOPLE Headquarters and opened up about their decision to stop filming.

"It 's been five years and it's been an awesome ride. It's been so much fun. But, you know, it feels like it's time. It just feels like it's time. We've been doing like 130 episodes, something crazy like that. It's fun. We have these really awesome home movies, like you've seen our kids grow up through the years. We are just so grateful for the whole experience, but it feels like it's time," she said.

She also revealed that the family was a bit nervous about the response from the big announcement, but their fans have proved they're are more loyal than ever.

"We just had such amazing support from fans," she said. "Everyone's tweeting and saying how much they love our family and they're gonna miss us and all that. It's bittersweet. We’re happy to kind of move on to another chapter, but also, we’re like, ‘Awe, we’re gonna miss this.’"

This season will be extra long and won't end until April 2017. Korie promises the best season yet and lots and lots of laughs. Watch her interview below.
