While celebrating an incredible 40 years in music, country trailblazer Loretta Lynn took a brief moment during her stage presence to call on one of her twin daughters, Peggy Lynn, to join her! Peggy confidently graces the stage and joins in a casual conversation with her mother in regards to their following number, "Heartaches Meet Mr. Blues".
"I wrote this before I ever [came] to Nashville, just like "Honky Tonk Girl". It's one of them little darlin' things, ya know? It'll never make it," Lynn tells the audience.
To this, a comedy-stricken Peggy responds with,
"Mama was a closet rock 'n' roller, I have to tell ya. You'll find out!"
With that, the two lovely gals cue the band and dive straight into the honky honk duet! Peggy, taking lead throughout the song, showcases her vocals that strike a profound resemblance to her mother's classic sound.
It's not until the chorus that fans and viewers get a taste of the impeccable combination of these two musical talents. Both Peggy and Lynn bring endless energy to the glorified stage, in addition to Lynn's encouraging interjections of "Sing it, Peggy!"
During the prolonged instrumental, Peggy utilizes this opportunity to praise her mother for her not only her musical success, but her wonderful mothering throughout the years. Lynn, beaming, giving her daughter a sweet kiss on the cheek, and off they go, returning to the timeless hit!
