It's official, Miranda Lambert's new single is being released on July 18!
Rumors spread about the release date of Lambert's upcoming single when a radio station posted about it on Twitter. Although the station eventually deleted its tweet, others took to social media to share that their home radio stations were also promoting July 18 as the release date.
More information about Lambert's single emerged on Wednesday (July 13), when Slacker Radio revealed the cover art and title of the single. Called "Vice," the cover art for Lambert's new single showed a zoomed in image of a vinyl record.
Windmills Country also revealed on Wednesday that Lambert co-wrote the song with the talented songwriting duo of Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. Later that same day, Lambert posted an image on social media that seemed to support the rumors of a new single.
Lambert didn't write a caption to the photo, which was shot in black and white and shows her holding a glass. Fans who heard the rumors were quick to speculate if this was a hint about the new single, since it portrayed a type of "vice."
Finally, Lambert confirmed on Thursday (July 14) that the release date for her new single is July 18. She shared another black and white photo on social media to reveal the news, which shows her standing next to a record player with a record playing with the word "Vice" on it.
"Vice" will be Lambert's first single since 2015's "Smokin' and Drinkin'," and is also her first since splitting from Blake Shelton last summer.
We wonder if a new single means that Lambert will have a full album ready soon. Her last album, Platinum, was a major success, and featured hit songs such as "Automatic," which you can listen to below.
It's about time we heard some new music from Lambert!
