It's the song that's sweeping the country music community..."Vice," Miranda Lambert's latest single, has been tearing up the charts since its release on July 18. She performed the song live for the first time on July 28, and finally brought it to television for the first time on August 3.
"Vice" made its television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! when Lambert performed the song along with her band in front of a small audience. It's the first time many fans had the chance to see Lambert perform the song live, and she didn't disappoint.
It's hard to pick a standout moment in Lambert's performance, but the beginning of the song was one time where her talent came through the most. Singing at a near whisper, Lambert's voice was filled with emotion as she sang about a heartbreak record that "hurts this good you gotta play it twice."
From start to finish, Lambert's performance was filled with a great sense of raw power, making it easy to see why "Vice" is the song that currently has so many country fans mesmerized.
In an interview with Billboard following the release of "Vice," Lambert spoke about the real life emotions that went into crafting the song, which she co-wrote:
"I feel like when you listen to this song, there's really nothing to read into. It says what it says. Everybody has a vice. Everybody goes through a time in their life when they run to it a little bit more than when they don't. When I'm journaling my life and putting it on paper to a melody and then allowing people to hear it, I can't worry about what somebody might twist it into, because it's not like I'm hiding anything."
Lambert's first televised performance contained that sense of vulnerability she talked about, which is perhaps the reason why it's such an intriguing performance to watch. You can see for yourself in the clip below.
We don't know about you, but we simply can't get enough of "Vice!"
