Miranda Lambert Lays It All On The Line In First Televised Performance Of ‘Vice’

Jimmy Kimmel Live YouTube Channel

It’s the song that swept the country music community. That song is “Vice,” Miranda Lambert‘s first single off of her latest album The Weight of These Wings.

The song started tearing up the charts since its release in July 2016. A month later, she finally brought it to television.

“Vice” made its television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! when Lambert performed the song along in front of a small audience. It’s the first time many fans got to see Lambert perform the song live, and she didn’t disappoint.

It’s hard to pick a standout moment in Lambert’s performance, but the beginning of the song was one time where her talent came through the most. Singing at a near whisper, Lambert’s voice was filled with emotion as she sang about a heartbreak record that “hurts this good you gotta play it twice.

From start to finish, Lambert’s performance was filled with a great sense of raw power, making it easy to see why “Vice” left so many country fans mesmerized.

In an interview with Billboard following the release of “Vice,” Lambert spoke about the real life emotions that went into crafting the song, which she co-wrote:

“I feel like when you listen to this song, there’s really nothing to read into. It says what it says. Everybody has a vice. Everybody goes through a time in their life when they run to it a little bit more than when they don’t. When I’m journaling my life and putting it on paper to a melody and then allowing people to hear it, I can’t worry about what somebody might twist it into, because it’s not like I’m hiding anything.”

Lambert’s first televised performance contained that sense of vulnerability she talked about, which is perhaps the reason why it’s so intriguing to watch. You can see for yourself in the clip below.

We don’t know about you, but we simply can’t get enough of “Vice!”
