Reba herself even gets choked up and emotional when singing this incredible song from her new album.
In a new interview and performance set with The Today Show, country legend Reba McEntire reveals that her new gospel album is incredibly moving and emotional for her, saying to Hoda Kotb and Kathy Lee that the songs choke her up.
“When I sing these songs, it chokes me up. I get very emotional because… oh it’s healing and it’s very inspirational and inspiring and it gives me hope because of the faith. I just don’t know what I’d do without it.”
But Reba's not the only one that gets emotional when she sings the songs. After performing several songs on The Today Show, she sat down for an interview with Hoda and Kathy Lee. It was during this interview that Hoda revealed that Reba had brought an audience member to tears during her beautiful performance.
Singing "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot", "God and My Girlfriends", and "Back To God", Reba pulled out all the stops and gave all the viewers an incredible performance. Hoda explains that during this performance, she noticed a woman in the audience who was moved to tears with Reba's heavenly songs.
"Today you sang a beautiful song," Hoda told the country music star. "And there was a young woman there who has ALS, who was sitting in a wheelchair - and she was weeping. When I watched just how impactful what you did was in that one instance -- do you see how it's transforming people?"
Reba obviously was touched that her music could connect so deeply with someone and continued on, explaining that her songs are very emotional and filled with messages of hope and inspiration - something she believes we all need.
