When Nashville wrapped up at the end of Season 4, fans were left with more questions than answers. One of those big questions had nothing to do with the plot, but rather, if the show would be able to find a new home after it was cancelled by ABC.
Fortunately for fans of the show, it didn't take long for that question to be answered. Nashville was picked up by CMT, and now Season 5 is set to premiere on January 5, 2017.
It seems that the show is making a lot of changes this season, especially when it comes to the addition of new characters. But one thing that hasn't changed is the amount of relationship drama that will take place between the main characters on the show.
On Saturday, September 17, CMT released a new, 15 second trailer for Nashville. In that short amount of time, we can already tell that the new season is going to be packed full of relationship drama.
The clip shows an emotional exchange between main characters Rayna James and Deacon Clayborune, showing that their relationship may be put to the test yet again. There also seems to be some drama between Avery Barkley and Juliette Barnes, with the latter's fate left up in the air following last season's dramatic ending.
We didn't learn much about the new season of Nashville from this trailer, but it did leave us with a taste of what to expect. January seems so far away, but trailers like these will help hold us over until then!
