Revisit Home Free’s Dynamic Performance Of ‘Ring Of Fire’ On ‘The Sing Off’

NBC/YouTube

Home Free vocal band’s latest video for “How Great Thou Art” reminded us just how much we love the group and they’re unique harmonies. We decided to take a look back at one of Home Free’s best country song covers.

One of the first country tunes the Minnesota-based group covered was Johnny Cash’s 1963 hit “Ring of Fire.” The first time we heard Home Free sing the Man in Black’s signature song was during their 2013 appearance on NBC’s The Sing Off, a reality singing competition that the all-male quintet went on to win.

After their Sing Off win, Home Free recorded “Ring of Fire” and released an accompanying video that included bass singer Avi Kaplan from fellow hit-making a cappella group Pentatonix. The group also performed the song during their Grand Ole Opry debut in 2015, earning them a standing ovation. But, it’s Home Free’s Sing Off performance of “Ring of Fire” that we want to see again and again.

While many have covered “Ring of Fire,” we think you’ll agree that Home Free’s is one of the best we’ve ever heard.

Check out this cover and prepare to be blown away!
