Just a couple weeks away from her 17 city Live Original Tour, Sadie Robertson spoke at an event in Tulsa, Oklahoma and revealed something surprising about herself.
The 19-year-old reality TV personality opened up about how her fame distracted her from what she feels her purpose is.
She already had a huge following of fans from Duck Dynasty, but her stint on Dancing with the Stars really catapulted her to fame. She is known for using this fame for good, but according to Sadie herself, she got wrapped up in all of it and forgot about her mission.
"When I first jumped into this whole fame, I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm getting so many followers, this is so crazy. I can be such a light,'" she said. "But then I started missing what it really meant to bring light to the world."
She realized that her 140 characters on Twitter to her 1.7 million followers do not go as far as a half-hour speaking session in front of hundreds of people. While her audience is larger on social media, she connects more to people in person, which is why she is taking her "squad" on tour this fall.
At her speaking event in Tulsa, she revealed there were "17 souls saved", meaning 17 people devoted themselves to God that day.
Kudos to Sadie for figuring this all out and navigating being a teenager, a celebrity, and a messenger of Christ all at the same time.
