Southern sweetheart Carrie Underwood reached her stardom upon being discovered on, and ultimately winning, Season 4 of Fox's hit competition, American Idol. Since her victory, she has gone to produce record breaking albums and win over not only the incredible fans of country music, but country music artists themselves!
Her talent and "Good Girl" image, despite some of her sassier songs, have been admired by aspiring musicians worldwide, identifying Underwood as their inspiration and idol. With that in mind, it was no surprise when 11-year-old Chloe Channell, an aspiring country singer, chose to perform Underwood's hit song "American Girl" on the coveted America's Got Talent stage during the AGT Season 8 auditions.
Dressed to the nines in a soft pink dress and flawless curls, the Florida native admits,
"I'm not such a girly girl... Like, I don't like getting my hair done and makeup on. I'd rather go outside and play and hunt."
Bless you, child.
When asked what she hopes to do in this performance, Channell replies , "I just wanna see people smile. That's all I can ask for."
And that they did! As if Channell's adorable explanation of "hunting camps" and shooting regulations weren't enough, her talent absolutely floored her audience! The crowd quickly rose to their feet, enjoying Channell's undeniable talent and offering additional on beat claps throughout the performance!
The panel of judges remained absolutely baffled throughout the performance, with fan favorite Howie Mandel exclaiming,
"I believe that you, young lady, have a career ahead of you. You're gonna be able to afford guns, and tents... dead animals; any little girl could ever hope for!"
This performance, however, is definitely one that can only be appreciated when viewed first-hand! With that, we encourage you to watch the clip below and enjoy!
