It was 2011, seven years since Shania Twain’s last appearance at the CMT Music Awards. As the singer made her way to the stage to introduce the nominees for the Best Male Video of the Year, he feet went out from under her causing her to take a nasty spill. Uninjured, the shaken but smiling Twain got up and walked the remaining distance to the stage.

After the fall, the “Any Man of Mine” singer took to Twitter to address the incident, calling it “one of life’s most embarrassing moments.”

In the post-fall video, a casually dressed Twain says, “I’m just trying to get all this adrenaline out because I just made a complete fool of myself. And, I experienced one of life’s most embarrassing moments,” the singer confessed before making light of the situation. “I lived through that, now I’m here to I realized that I don’t need stunt double because I did my own stunts in the Thelma and Louise video clip and I didn’t need a stunt double to wipe out on my way to the CMT Video Awards stage to present Best Male Video of the Year.”

Twain was uninjured in the fall, but said she had a bit of a sore thumb and never wants to see the shoes she was wearing again. “I’m gonna auction off those shoes, actually, as soon as I can. I never want to see those shoes again. Or, maybe I should keep those as a souvenir.”
