Olympic Gymnast Gets Surprised By Her Favorite ‘Voice’ Coach

NBC

Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez left the 2016 Summer Games in Rio with a gold medal, a silver medal, and a lifetime of memories including a special surprise from her favorite ‘Voice’ coach, Adam Levine.

Hernandez appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s late night Olympic show Saturday (August 20) and revealed that she’s a huge fan of ‘The Voice’. Seacrest asked the gymnast who her favorite ‘Voice’ was. Laurie responded, “So Adam keeps winning so I like Adam because of that. But Christina [Aguilera] is awesome even when I was younger just in the gym my coach would put on a Christina CD and we would listen to her the whole time.”

The question was a set up for a huge surprise for 16-year old Hernandez as Seacrest told her to watch a screen where a special message from Adam Levine played for her.

“What’s up, Laurie? This is Adam Levine. Just wanted to say hello. Congratulations, you’re kicking butt out there and we’ve been watching you from the states. Excellent work,” the ‘Voice’ coach said.

Adam Levine is currently gearing up for ‘The Voice’ season 11 premiere set to air September 19. The Maroon 5 frontman will also be welcoming his first child, a girl, with wife Behati Prinsloo in September.
