Miranda Lambert has kept details surrounding her upcoming studio album tightly under wraps for months. Even when it came to the release of the album's first single, "Vice," Lambert slowly revealed details about the song to fans, never giving them the full picture until it was released.
Following the smash success of "Vice," which has climbed as high as the second spot on the Billboard country charts, Lambert spoke about her new album, which she said details an "emotional journey."
"Every record I've ever made has been a reflection of where I am right then in my life, however old I am," Lambert said, making it clear her new album will be the same. "And I've never held back at all," she said.
Lambert certainly didn't hold back in "Vice," which is her most vulnerable song to date. Until Tuesday (September 13), we only knew "Vice" as an individual work of art. But following a video announcement Lambert made, we now know a few details about the larger picture that "Vice" is part of.
In a black and white video similar to the ones she released to tease "Vice," we see Lambert, who is seated with her back to us in her 1961 Shasta trailer, Dixie. She can be seen writing something in her notebook, as the camera moves closer and instrumental music plays in the background.
Finally, the camera comes in close enough and Lambert moves her hand to reveal the words she wrote in her notebook. The top line reads, "The Weight of These Wings," with the date November 18 written underneath.
After all this time, it seems we have the release date and title of Lambert's new album. We already can't wait to get our hands on a copy, but until then we guess we'll continue to get lost in listening to "Vice." You can watch Lambert's powerful music video for the song in the clip below.
What about you, are you excited to finally hear some news about Lambert's upcoming album?
