This Video Of Skynyrd Performing ‘Tuesday’s Gone’ At Winterland Is What Your Soul Needs Right Now

Lynyrd Skynyrd on MV YouTube Channel

Ask any Lynyrd Skynyrd fan, and they’ll tell you just how important the Winterland Ballroom is. Located in San Francisco, the former skating rink turned music venue hosted many notable bands over the years, including Kiss, Jimi Hendrix, and The Allman Brothers Band

Skynyrd’s Winterland concerts have gone down in history as some of the best to ever take place at the venue. Southern Rock’s shining stars performed at the venue for the first time in 1975, and returned the following year for another performance.

It was during the second show that Skynyrd ended up delivering one unforgettable version of their iconic song “Tuesday’s Gone.” At the time, Skynyrd had just released their latest album, Gimme Back My Bullets. But knowing how much the fans loved the older tunes, they threw some of that stuff into their setlist as well.

“Tuesday’s Gone” was one of those tunes. It first appeared on the band’s debut album, (Pronounced ‘lĕh-‘nérd ‘skin-‘nérd), and was written by lead singer Ronnie Van Zant and guitarist Allen Collins.

Both Ronnie and Allen were on a roll during their performance of the song at Winterland in 1976, as was the rest of the band. But that shouldn’t come as any surprise!

Filmed completely in black and white, there’s something comforting about the footage that emerged from Skynyrd’s show at Winterland. Tune in below to watch them perform “Tuesday’s Gone,” and you’ll see what we mean.

Man, nothing soothes the soul like some Skynyrd music!

Lynyrd Skynyrd’s ‘Pronounced ‘Lĕh-‘nérd ‘Skin-‘nérd & Second Helping Live’ is available now on DVD, Blu-ray and digital formats – it’s the perfect gift for the Lynyrd Skynyrd fan in your life. Buy it here on Amazon!
