Tim McGraw is no stranger to earning number one hits. But there's something unique about his latest chart topper, "Humble and Kind", which has had a lasting effect on those who have listened to it.

Written by singer-songwriter Lori McKenna, who also co-wrote the Grammy-winning Little Big Town song, "Girl Crush", "Humble and Kind" was released in January 2016 and has captivated the world ever since. Its simple, but inspirational message of showing kindness and compassion to others has prompted a "humble and kind" movement, one that McGraw has embraced wholeheartedly.

Since the song's release, fans have sent McGraw messages, photos, and videos of acts of kindness they've either carried out themselves or witnessed others partake in. McGraw has shared many of these stories on social media in the hopes of encouraging others to practice the message conveyed in "Humble and Kind."

In the months since its release, "Humble and Kind" has already been certified gold and the music video won Video of the Year at the CMT Awards. In addition, the track recently hit number one on the Billboard Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs, which marks another great accomplishment.

McGraw is now the first country artist in four years to take a song to the top of the charts that was written by only one person. In fact, out of the 60 songs on Billboard's Country Airplay chart as of June 16, "Humble and Kind" is the only song written by a single songwriter.

The last time an artist topped the country charts with a song written by only one person was back in 2012, when Taylor Swift hit number one with her self-penned song, "Ours". Swift also held the record prior to that, when she scored a number one hit with "Sparks Fly", which she also wrote herself.

Before Swift, Blake Shelton took "God Gave Me You" to the number one spot on the charts, which was written single-handedly by Dave Barnes.

This is a huge accomplishment for both McGraw and McKenna, but we honestly aren't surprised. "Humble and Kind" is beautifully written, and McGraw's delivery is impactful. No wonder it has managed to inspire so many listeners.

Congratulations to McGraw and McKenna!
