Facebook Live is quickly becoming one of the most popular features on social media. The feature has birthed new unsuspecting stars, but has also given some of today's biggest stars a chance to interact with their fans in a whole new way.
One of music's biggest names, American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, is utilizing the tool to make career announcements, perform live for her fans, and more.
On Friday, Clarkson appeared on Facebook Live where she shared that she has some new projects in the works including a new album. She also did something she's never done before. The singer took live song requests from fans and sang snippets of the tunes while accompanied by her producer on piano.
“We’re going to do something random during this Facebook Live session and it might go horribly wrong,” Clarkson joked. The first song she was given was "Catch My Breath" but she couldn't remember the lyrics. "Oh yeah, I wrote this,” Clarkson laughed.
Requests poured in as the singer tried to keep up, but struggled through the lyrics. “I’m nervous because I don’t ever do this,” Clarkson said. “Lyrics are my thing. I retain nothing.”
We won't hold it against her, though. Kelly Clarkson rose to fame 15 years ago as the first winner of the wildly popular reality singing competition American Idol. The singer has accumulated a vast catalog of songs since then including tunes like "Since U Been Gone," "Stronger," "Piece By Piece," and even a duet with country superstar Reba McEntire, "Because of You."
Kelly Clarkson didn't let her Facebook Live slip up get to her. Like the pro she is, she kept singing while laughing at herself, reminding her fans just why we love her so much.
