Miranda Lambert has recorded many emotional songs over the course of her career, but none manage to tug at the heartstrings more than her 2012 single, “Over You.”

Co-written by Lambert and her then-husband Blake Shelton, “Over You” was released as the second single off of Lambert’s album Four the Record. The emotional song is based on a heartbreaking, real-life experience.

When he was young, Shelton’s older brother passed away. He and Lambert translated his feelings about his brother’s death into “Over You”.

Once the song was finished, Shelton knew he couldn’t bring himself to record it or perform it on stage, so he asked Lambert to take it on. Lambert’s powerful delivery helped “Over You” become one of the biggest hits of the year.

Since “Over You” is such an emotional song, it is a difficult one to perform. But one young girl was up to the challenge, and she ended up delivering a beautiful rendition of it.

Shevya Panda may be young, but she is already a talented musician and singer. She proves that through her cover of “Over You”, which she performed live in front of a small crowd in 2016.

Seated at a piano, Shevya plays the introduction to the song before she starts singing. Her soft voice hangs at barely a whisper through the first verse, before she lets it soar with a burst of power on the chorus.

Shevya continues playing throughout the song, and the stripped down piano arrangement adds a whole new sentimental feeling to it. Although soft, her final note hangs in the air as she finishes playing, bringing a conclusion to a stunning performance.

You can watch Shevya’s gorgeous rendition of “Over You” in the video below. We think Lambert would be proud, do you?
