Rory Feek Shares Sweet Dance With Daughter Despite Heartbreak

It’s been four days since Rory Feek shared that his wife had entered her final sleep. After fighting to live so that she could celebrate their daughter Indiana’s 2nd birthday, Joey decided it was time to let go. 

As the family waits at the Alexandria, Indiana, home they’ve been living in since the fall, they are remembering Joey and the full life she has lived. 

“In the 40 short years that Joey has lived, my bride has accomplished many great things… she’s lived a very full life,” Rory wrote earlier this week. “But even more than that, she has loved those around her greatly and been loved greatly in return.  I can honestly say that Joey’s isn’t just a life well-lived, it’s a life well-loved.”

While it is a time of sadness for Joey’s family, friends, and the millions of fans that have faithfully followed her cancer battle, it is also a time of rejoicing as she will soon be free of pain. 

“Though our hearts are heavy we all need to do our best to remember that this is not the end.  It’s only the beginning. When Joey takes her last breath here… she will take her first breath there. In Heaven,” wrote Rory.

In a bittersweet video posted last night (March 3) by Joey and Rory‘s oldest daughter Heidi, a smiling Rory and giggling 2-year old Indiana can be seen dancing in the kitchen. While the video was silent, we imagine that the duo was dancing to a George Strait tune in Joey’s honor. Watch the video below.
