Yesterday evening (March 4), Joey Feek passed away after a courageous cancer fight. Her husband Rory shared the news on his blog, This Life I Live. In the blog post, Rory also shared a touching surprise that made a dream of Joey's come true in November. The surprise involved a video from country legend Dolly Parton, someone Joey had admired since she was four years old.
"'Coat of Many Colors' was a regular part of our show and at home she loved to put on Dolly and listen to 'Hello God', 'When I Sing For Him', 'Me and Little Andy' and many others," Rory wrote. "She never got the chance to meet her in person and had no idea that Dolly even knew who she was."
One Friday night in November, Rory gathered Joey’s family and Joey+Rory's long-time bus driver in Joey's room to watch one of Joey's favorite movies, the Sandra Bullock/Harry Connick Jr. hit "Hope Floats."
"But instead of pushing play on the DVD, I pushed play on the video I had received… and we all watched Joey watch. It was the most beautiful moment I have ever been part of…"
Watch Joey's amazing and emotional reaction to the surprise in the video below.
Continue praying for Joey's family as they return to Tennessee to lay her to rest.
