Kelly Clarkson Bids Farewell To ‘Idol’ With Stunning Medley Of Hits

Michael Rozman/Warner Bros.

Kelly Clarkson is due to give birth soon so was unable to attend the American Idol finale in person. But, the very first ‘Idol’ sent a pre-taped mini-concert featuring a string of her biggest hits.

The 33-year old strung together nearly one dozen of her greatest hits including “Since U Been Gone”, “Walk Away”, and “Don’t You Wanna Stay.” The most emotional moment of Clarkson’s Idol medley was the conclusion in which she sang “A Moment Like This,” the song she sang when she became the first American Idol winner ever.

Clarkson is expecting her second child, a son, with husband Brandon Blackstock and is due to give birth in two weeks. The singer announced her pregnancy in August during a concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Clarkson was singing her biographical ballad “Piece by Piece” when she got emotional. She shocked the crowd when she blamed the emotions on being pregnant.

“I was not planning on announcing this,” she told the crowd. “I’m totally pregnant!”
