Ever since we heard Scotty McCreery sing the lyrics, "Baby lock them doors and turn the lights down low", we knew he would be the winner of American Idol Season 10.
Even during themed weeks, McCreery did not venture far out on the country genre throughout the competition.
He became the youngest male contestant and second youngest ever to win American Idol at age seventeen.
He released his coronation single "I Love You This Big" and charted at No. 32. He signed with Mercury Nashville and released his debut album, Clear As Day, on October 4, 2011.
He made history as the first country act to debut at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart with their first studio album. Clear As Day reached No. 1 on five different charts: Billboard 200, Top Current Albums, Digital Albums, Internet Albums, and Top Country Albums. It has since been certified platinum.
In 2012, he went on tour and opened for Brad Paisley. On October 15, 2013, McCreery released his second album, See You Tonight, which has produced two singles.
He is currently working on his third album and just released a book called Go Big Or Go Home: The Journey Toward The Dream.
