In March 2015, Boyd announced on Facebook that he is currently working on his debut album, but just one month later, the tabloids got involved.
After six weeks of rumors, Boyd announced on Twitter that he, BMLG and Dot Records have parted ways.
Although it may have been a shock to fans, it was an announcement music critics saw coming. Following the release of his debut single “My Baby’s Got A Smile On Her Face”, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country charts, they did not send him on a radio tour.
The sales of the single also dropped 94% after the first week. It was almost as though Boyd’s label had already given up on him.
In an interview with Las Vegas journalist Doug Elfman, Boyd revealed that when he showed up for his first meeting with BMLG, they had no clue who he was.
After they parted ways, he decided to finish his album on his own. He released a second single, “I’m Still Here”, under his own label name, Long Haul Records.
On April 12, 2016, CWB announced on Facebook that he had finally found new management at Harmon Music Management.
We are so excited for him and apparently, he was supposed to make an appearance on The Voice to make the big announcement during the show as well.
Unfortunately, he had some issues with his flights, so he was unable to attend, but they still showcased his new manager and Label President.
We can’t wait to see what the future holds for CWB!
