Julianne Hough may not be serving as a judge on Dancing with the Stars this season, but that doesn't mean she's staying away from reality television for good.
Before Dancing with the Stars' current season kicked off, Hough announced she would not be returning as a judge so she could take the time to pursue other projects. Hough first found her claim to fame as a professional ballroom dancer on the show, and later went on to pursue careers as an actress and country singer. She eventually returned to Dancing with the Stars where she served as a judge for three seasons, and recently starred as Sandy in NBC's hit production of Grease Live!
Now, it appears that Hough is going to trade in her dancing shoes for a more practical pair of footwear. Deadline Hollywood announced on Friday (May 13) that Hough has signed on to take part in the popular reality television series Running Wild with Bear Grylls.
Starring British adventurer Bear Grylls, who is well known for his other show, Man vs Wild, Running Wild with Bear Grylls is a survival skills series in which different celebrities go on a journey with Grylls. Past celebrities who have appeared on the series include Kate Winslet, Zac Efron, and Kate Hudson.
Hough is set to join Grylls on an adventure in Africa, though no release date for her episode has been revealed at this time. Along with Hough, the upcoming season of the show will also feature her Grease Live! costar Vanessa Hudgens and Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn.
We can't wait to see Hough and everything she encounters on her adventures!
Hough's part on Running Wild with Bear Grylls is just one of many new things she appears to have planned during her time off of Dancing with the Stars. We also hope that one of those other plans includes recording some new country music, since her first album was such a big hit. You can watch the music video for her debut single "Song in My Head" below.
