Scotty McCreery Celebrates A Monumental Moment With His Family

To Scotty McCreery, family is everything. His entire family stuck by him and saw him through his journal on American Idol, when overnight he went from being a normal teenager to a nationwide sensation. 

Thanks to the help of his family, Scotty made it all the way to the finale, and was crowned the champion of the tenth season of American Idol. Since then, Scotty has released three studio albums, had songs climb up the Billboard charts, and released his autobiography.

Last fall, Scotty shared a post with his fans out Facebook showing yet another reason for him to celebrate. His big sister, Ashley, got engaged to the man of her dreams, Trent Lassiter. Scotty shared his excitement about his sister’s engagement in a sweet photo collage, which included a picture from the proposal at Disney World.

 

Sunday (May 22), Scotty officially welcomed his new brother-in-law into the family when Ashley and Trent tied the knot at the outdoor entertainment venue The Farm in Selma, North Carolina. Scotty’s father, Mike, shared a photo of his two children on his Instagram, writing that it was “a great brother/sister moment.“

The photo gives everyone a look at Scotty’s dashing tux and Ashley’s beautiful dress. But more importantly, it showcases the character of the relationship between brother and sister.

 

The #happilyeverlassiter hashtag on Twitter contains a few photos from the wedding, including one which shows off the adorable Mickey Mouse cookies designed for the occasion. Of course, Scotty also makes an appearance in a few of the photos, and you can tell from the smile on his face how overjoyed he was for his sister.

Now, Scotty has a string of performances to look forward to, including one at the same venue his sister celebrated her wedding at. We’re sure he’ll perform his most recent single, “Southern Belle,” which you can watch below.
