Tis' the season!
We have finally reached that time of year again... Christmas time! What better way to spread holiday cheer than through music?! It is one of our favorite ways to celebrate the Christmas spirit, and we hope you agree.
Alabama has been making the music we love for decades. So when it comes to the holidays, it only makes sense that they would come out with a Christmas album reflective of their country roots.
In 1982 Alabama released, Alabama's Christmas. The song "Christmas In Dixie" was a part of the two-sided holiday record, and gained popularity fast. Its success crossed over to other genres as well, even though the lyrics heavily focus on Christmas in the South. Either way, the holiday imagery is something everyone can relate to!
In 2003 Kenny Chesney covered the song, and featured it on his very own holiday album. All I Want For Christmas Is a Tan is full of traditional holiday songs like "Jingle Bells", "Silent Night", and "I'll Be Home For Christmas". But "Christmas In Dixie" is special because it features Alabama's lead singer, Randy Owen on the track. Awesome!
