Seven years ago, Carrie Underwood helped put on a family-oriented holiday special with the some of the biggest names in music.
Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, Kristin Chenoweth, fellow American Idol winner David Cook, and Christina Applegate joined Underwood for a spectacular show, which was filled with amazing performances and funny bits.
It was Underwood, though, who stole the show during her incredible rendition of "O Holy Night".
Not only does she look fabulous in her gold dress, she also shows off her vocal range beautifully. If she didn't prove that she is a strong vocalist while winning the fourth season of American Idol, she did after this heavenly performance.
She belts the high notes with ease, and makes singing this song look like a walk in the park. We love anything Christmas, but adding Carrie Underwood to this Christmas classic means we will have this song on repeat for hours!
"O Holy Night" was composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847. He wrote the music to the French poem "Minuit chrétiens" (Midnight, Christians) by Placide Cappeau. In 1855, John Sullivan Dwight created a singing edition, which is what we know today as "O Holy Night".
