Is there a better way to honor the show that "made country music famous" than with a finale filled with country music's most legendary singers? The answer is no.
In 2006, countless country legends performed at New York's famed Carnegie Hall in celebration of the Grand Ole Opry's 80th Anniversary. The entire cast of performers from that incredibly special night took the stage to sing a medley of classic gospel songs to end the show.
Together, they sang "I'll Fly Away", "I Saw The Light", and "Will The Circle Be Unbroken".
Alan Jackson kicked off "I'll Fly Away" with a toe-tapping solo and the rest of the cast chimed in with bone-chilling harmonies. The audience was loving it so much, you can barely hear Gill say, "Next song!" at the end of the chorus.
Seamlessly, they changed the tune to the Hank Williams classic "I Saw The Light" and Trace Adkins took the reigns on this one.
Ricky Skaggs, Whisperin' Bill Anderson, Brad Paisley, and Vince Gill took charge of "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" and at the end of Gill's solo, he invited the crowd to sing along.
We've never seen so much talent on one stage before, and we can't get enough! Although not every superstar gets a solo, you can see just how much fun they are all having on stage in each other's presence.
