Luke Bryan Covers Toby Keith’s “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” (Live) | Country Music Videos

Luke Bryan surprised the audience at one of his concerts with a beautiful rendition of Toby Keith’s “Should’ve Been A Cowboy”, as he played the piano through the entire performance. Now, everyone knows Keith’s #1 hit song so, when a modern country artist like Luke Bryan takes the stage to pay tribute to someone like Toby Keith, y’all have to respect that.

“Should’ve Been A Cowboy” was not just recorded by Keith, but he also penned the song. Released in 1993, it quickly took over the #1 spot on the US Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. This song romanticizes the cowboy lifestyle as it refers to popular western heroes like Marshall Dillon and the Lone Ranger – even Jesse James!

Luke Bryan’s rendition isn’t as up-tempo as Keith’s original is. It’s much more acoustic driven, to the point it almost sounds like a ballad, or a love song dedicated to the wild, cowboy lifestyle. The fans obviously went wild, so don’t miss out on this fun snippet from one of Bryan’s concerts.
