Kristin Chenoweth is known for her exceptional talent when it comes to acting and singing. With shows like Wicked, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, and Glee under her belt, it’s obvious why she’s such a big star. Along with her immense repertoire and extreme talent, she’s also very humble and thankful for where she is now and for all who support her.
Halfway through Chenoweth’s breathtaking performance of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You”, she said through falling tears, “As you can imagine, going up here and looking out at your faces, having this whole experience with these musicians. This whole night of music that I love, with the people I love the most sitting in the front row, is too much for television.”
“I Will Always Love You” was released in 1974 as the second single off of Dolly Parton’s Jolene album. It made it onto the charts in 1974, 1982, and again in 1995. The first time, it peaked at #1 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. It was later covered by Whitney Houston in 1992 for her film, The Bodyguard and became one of the best-selling singles of all time.
Chenoweth’s performance is stunning and a must-see. Even through shed tears, she’s still able to give a beautiful rendition that showcases her talent, just like every song she performs does. Though know one can sing this like Dolly, Chenoweth’s version is a must-see. Just try not to cry – good luck!
