We can guarantee y’all have never heard Zac Brown Band’s “Chicken Fried” performed like this! White’s unique voice puts a completely different spin on this hit song.
Corey Kent describes his music as something between country and blues, and as a medium of traditional country and pop country. Take a few minutes to meet the newest member of Team Blake by watching this interview below.
Corey can completely support himself with his musical talents, performing mostly on the sorority and fraternity circuits. There was one time though where he had the rare chance to sing beside the legendary Willie Nelson! According to his YouTube video, before the Willie Nelson concert, he grabbed a piece of cardboard from a trash can, a pen, and wrote, “It’s my dream to play a song with you”. He held that sign up for half of the concert. Apparently people were getting annoyed and Willie finally noticed, and after throwing three bandanas at White, he gave up and asked him what song he wanted to sing. When White said, “Milk Cow Blues”, Willie’s eyes lit up and the rest is history. Unfortunately, this video quality isn’t all that great, but it’s definitely worth a watch!
White actually already has an EP out, titled Making Noise. Here’s a song if his, “She Ain’t Perfect”, which is absolutely fantastic. Y’all need to take a minute to listen to this talented kid. He has a real chance at winning The Voice with that voice.
During the audition, Christina motioned towards Blake and Adam, and said, “Adam, this is you and Blake all day.” Practically the entire performance through, no one turns around, until Pharrell said, “This guy is good!” When no one presses the big red button, he continued, “Are you guys serious?” and proceeded to press the button milliseconds before Blake did. Pharrell and Blake battle over the chance to coach the very talented native-Oklahoman, Corey, but he ultimately chooses to be on Team Blake.
White’s performance was definitely a feast for the ears. His country roots, unique voice, and high energy are a recipe for stardom. Check out his audition below. Way to go, Corey!
