Under his bad-boy surface, Eric Church is a family man. And during his performance at the Country Radio Seminar, we got to see that side of him. Warning: your hearts are about to melt.
When Eric was just 10 years old, his grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. This heartbreaking disease greatly effected Eric and during his performance at the Country Radio Seminar, he stunned the crowd with an unreleased song dedicated to his grandfather.
Before beginning the song Eric opened up to the audience with, “The hardest issue I had was continuing a relationship with a person who doesn’t remember you. I was scared of it, I feared it.” The powerful lyrics matched his introduction to the song, as he sang, “I don’t mind remembering for him / You don’t have to get why I adore him / He doesn’t have to know me ’cause I know who he is.”
The tribute was simply beautiful, and we’re pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the house after his performance.
