Team Blake’s Corey Kent White and Cody Wickline went up against each other in an epic knockout round on The Voice that left many fans wondering – did Blake choose the correct performer as the ultimate winner? Corey Kent White performed an impressive rendition of one of Tim McGraw’s most popular songs, “Live Like You Were Dying”, while Cody went with a stunning version of Justin Moore’s “Til My Last Day”.
“Live Like You Were Dying” was released in 2004 on Tim McGraw’s album of the same name. It reached #1 on the US Hot Country Songs (Billboard) chart and it did so well that it even crossed over into non-country charts. White’s raspy voice put a new spin on McGraw’s hit song. He threw a lot of electricity and emotion into his performance, wowing the audience throughout the entire thing.
“Til My Last Day” was released in 2012 on Justin Moore’s Outlaws Like Me album. It charted in both the U.S. and Canada and peaked at #1 on the US Country Airplay (Billboard) chart. Wickline’s performance was pure country and showcased his talent. He ended his performance on a strong, impressive note, that caused Blake to throw his arms up and yell, “Yeah!”
Blake obviously had a very difficult choice to make as both of the contestants did very well. While some fans of The Voice may not agree with Mr. Shelton, he chose Corey Kent White as the winner and Cody Wickline was sent home. What do y’all think?
