We’re pretty sure this song is about to stir up lots of opinions. Regardless, Toby Keith has blown us away, and really made us think with his powerful new song, “35 MPH Town“.
The song is very eye-opening to our society and our youth. Through listening to the song it’s clear that Toby thinks we’re headed in the wrong direction, and we should remember our roots and traditions. Toby puts a lot of his feelings and opinions in the lyrics, saying things like,
Mama locked the door last night for the first time in all of her years / I said mama you gotta be kidding me, she said things ain’t like they used to be round here. You just wouldn’t believe it, kids growing up without Jesus, good thing your daddy ain’t here to see this now / They stay higher than the water tower in this 35 MPH Town.
One thing everyone can probably agree on is that people are going to be talking about this song. They are either going to love it or hate it, and either completely agree or completely disagree with Toby’s description of our society.
Although the song hasn’t been officially released yet, we’ll keep you posted.
In the meantime check out the video, and let us know what you think!
