To All Of The Men And Women Who Served In The Vietnam War: Thank You
on Apr 14, 2015
The Vietnam War is a piece of our nations history that will be documented in the history books of our country’s youth forever. The war began in 1959, even though conflicts with North Vietnam and its southern allies had began several years prior. During the period between 1956-1975, 2.5 million American G.I’s served in Vietnam. Some were drafted into the war while others volunteered, with an average age of 21 years old. It wasn’t the most popular war in history, but no matter what, the courage and bravery of our men and women who served will always be appreciated and never forgotten.
The first video below is a slideshow of powerful images from the war, with the sound of influential music from the era. This touching slideshow pays respect to all of those who served, and most importantly it shows appreciation to the people who have fought for our freedom. The second video is one from an actual Vietnam Veteran and popular television personality, Si Robertson (photo in uniform below). He explains what he and other soldiers went through to his nephew Will’s classroom. Perhaps in a little too much detail… y’all will have to watch for yourselves!
Enjoy these must see videos, and God Bless our troops and veterans!
