Talented Blind Girl With Cerebral Palsy Delivers A Flawless National Anthem

16-Year-Old Marlana Vanhoose beat the odds. Born without an optic nerve and with CMV (Cytomeglo virus), Marlana wasn’t expected to live past the first year. According to her website, “…God knew better, He had special plans for Marlana. After Marlana turned a year old her body healed from the virus and that is when it all began. Marlana was humming “Jesus loves me” before she talked and by the time she was two years old she taught herself to play the piano.”

The native-Kentuckian performed the National Anthem during the announcement of Rand Paul’s run for presidency and she brought down the house with her epic rendition. Her talent was showcased for all the world to see that day and since then it has gone viral, and rightly so. Marlana deserves some recognition because we all know how difficult that song is, but she rocketed through it with flying colors. 

Written on her website, the spirited young girl “…invited Jesus into her heart and has been baptized. She loves God very much and says she has no need to see here on earth. She knows that when she gets to Heaven, Jesus will be the first face she’ll see.”
