DIY: Easy & Flavorful Homemade Beef Jerky (WATCH)

Don’t have a dehyrdator? No worries. This recipe calls for an oven and it’s easy to do, too! Troy from the T-Roy Cooks YouTube channel has a brilliant recipe for homemade jerky that begs to be tried. Below is a basic, step-by-step guide, but we suggest watching the video for a more detailed view.

First off, check out the ingredients.

Mix together Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, liquid smoke, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chipotle pepper,  crushed red pepper flakes, pepper, salt, and water.

Place the thin slices of Top Round into the mixture to marinate. Put in refrigerator overnight or over eight hours.

Place pieces of top round on a stack of paper towels. Make sure to really dry up the slices with more towels on top (see video for more detailed instructions).

Preset oven to lowest setting (170 degrees for Troy). Place in jellyroll pan with wire rack as seen below. Make sure slices are not overlapping.

Place in oven. It’s a guess-and-check situation. It could take 4-6 hours or more.

Let jerky cool off and take off any excess moisture that may be left behind. Nothing else left to do but enjoy!

Check out the entire, detailed instructions in the video below.
