DIY: Simple Recipe For Apple Roses (VIDEO)
on Apr 29, 2015
You will be shocked at how simple these beautiful little pastries are. Super easy and delicious all at the same time. The best part is… they are pretty too!
All you need for six apple roses:
2 organic red delicious apples
A bowl half filled with water
Juice of half a lemon (no seeds!)
3 tablespoons of apricot preserves
1 sheet of thawed puff pastry
3 tablespoons of cinnamon
Powdered sugar (for presentation)
Muffin tin
First, you’ll need to slice 2 apples into very thin slices (make sure you remove apple core). Then, add the slices of apple to the bowl half filled with water and lemon juice, and microwave for about 3 minutes. Drain water from the apples, and in a separate container microwave 3 tablespoons of apricot preserves with 2 tablespoons of water for 2 minutes, and set aside. Unwrap one sheet of thawed puff pastry and stretch out to cut six even strips. Spread apricot preserves that you set aside on each strip and place apple slices on strips (sprinkle cinnamon if you wish). Fold strip in half and roll up. Place one apple rose in each tin and bake for 40-45 minutes at 375 degrees fahrenheit. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy!
