Duck Commander Musical Set To Close The Curtain Early

Duck Commander Musical Set To Close The Curtain Early | Country Music Videos

The Duck Commander Musical was booked to run through June 30th at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. But in a sudden turn of events the musical is ending its run after only a month and a half.

Playbill reports that the 90-minute production, based on the 2012 book by Willie and Korie Robertson will be closing May 17, 2015.

Representatives for the production said in a statement to Playbill that, “much has been learned from this limited engagement. … Duck Commander will now consider several possible opportunities for the next stage in the life of the show, including extended sit-down engagements in interested cities, as well as a national tour.”

Even though the show lived a short life on the Vegas strip, critics of the play gave the show rave reviews. Robin Leach of the Las Vegas Sun stated, “The show, with its great cast, wonderful music and memorable songs, is too good, fun and emotional to not have big recognition…” Leading us to believe that there are bigger plans for the production in the works. Stay tuned to find out!

Below is a clip of the show from its Las Vegas start. Maybe you’ll be persuaded to buy tickets to this lovable show after watching!
