Craig first performed the song during a Rascal Flatts concert in March 2015, giving a little insight into the inspiration behind the meaningful tune. “My last week being on that show [The Voice], I wrote a song that really speaks about my whole journey up to that point,” Craig told the audience. He told Rolling Stone Country: “The last song that I wrote was the last week on The Voice,” Craig said. “It’s funny, I was walking around the set as [the number of finalists] got smaller and smaller—it was down to five of us—and people would say, ‘Hey, it’s Craig Wayne Boyd!’ And I’d say, ‘Yep, I’m still here!’ So I wrote a story of my musical journey up to this point.”
"I'm a believer, there's a song in me that's begging to be heard. Yes, I'm a dreamer, hanging on to hope for everything it's worth," the song goes. Craig's performance was both entertaining and inspirational, further proving that he was rightfully chosen winner for the seventh season of The Voice.
