In an interview with HuffPost Live, Kenny sat down to talk about his dear friend Dolly, and how their relationship is something truly special.

Although the two country music idols were never involved romantically, Kenny discloses, “Everyone always thought we were having an affair. But we didn’t! We just teased each other and flirted with each other for thirty years.“

The song that kicked off their longtime partnership was the 1983 hit song “Islands In The Stream,” followed by countless others.

In the interview, Kenny called Dolly his “special friend” because “if she were to walk in the door and I hadn’t seen her for 5 years, I would be just as comfortable as I was the last time I saw her,” he said.
