2 Major Stars Confirmed To Return For Season 5 Of ‘Nashville’

With the announcement last week that two of Nashville’s major cast members would not be returning for Season 5, speculation arose as to who would actually be returning to the CMT revived show.

TV Line reported that Will Chase and Aubrey Peeples, who play Luke Wheeler and Layla Grant, respectively, would not be back for Season 5. This comes as no surprise to fans because both their story lines would make sense if they left town. 

Chase’s character is no longer engaged to Connie Britton’s Rayna Jaymes and Grant’s character failed to avenge the death of her former lover, Jeff Fordham, played by Oliver Hudson.

Two of the show’s main characters, however, are set to return for Season 5, according to TV Line. Britton and Hayden Panettiere, who plays Juliette Barnes, are “both poised to return” and we couldn’t be more excited!

The show more or less revolves around their story lines and it just wouldn’t be the same without them.

Also reportedly returning to season 5 will be Charles Esten (Deacon), Sam Palladio (Gunnar), Jonathan Jackson (Avery), Clare Bowen (Scarlett), Lennon Stella (Maddie), Maisy Stella (Daphne), and Chris Carmack (Will).
